Security on the UK supplied 182 has a cat 1 alarm/immobiliser as standard, european supplied only have a cat 2 immobiliser. parking on public roads overnight is all relative to where you live, personally i try to avoid leaving it on the road over night, because i dont want it to get damaged.

Greatest danger with parking on a public road is someone crashing into your car. Also unless you are a parking master I bet the wheels would get curbed sooner or later.

You also have the risk of yobs walking past and vandalising it for no reason but they will do that if you park on a driveway too. I have CCTV pointing at my car and I have seen yobs smash the windows on cars parked on a drive across the road for absolutely no reason other than for a laugh.

Another risk which also applies to people parking on a drive is having the badges nicked etc.

To be honest I wouldnt worry about the car get broken into or stolen unless you upgrade the stereo.

I had a 172 with a aftermarket exhaust, parked it on the roadside every nite, no problems at all.

I had a 3month old Nissan Almera, parked on teh same road and some one drove into it and drove off. 5000quids worth of damage!!

Its all a risk you take, but certainly dont let it put you off buying the car you like.
