Clio 197/200 - Neutral Safety Switch / CLIP Programable?

I need to the car to only start when the clutch or brake is depressed - It's a vehicle requirement here in Canada

My car has a normal key not a card.

Can I use the CLIP to force this options (i.e. clutch into start or brake to start) or would I have to faff around with installing some kind of aftermarket switch etc.)

Thanks

I think it will be possible to activate it as you need to press brake or clutch on the keycard models.

Use Renolink or ddt4all, as clip wont usually allow you to alter stuff like that.

Ive just reactivated the same option on our meg mk3 250 with Renolink. Was simply an option on uch for press pedal to start or something equally as obvious.

Thanks I'll download the ddt4all and use my ELM327 cable / OBD2 dongle to make that happen.

Is the ddt4all pretty much download and go? Is there a library for Renault that needs to be installed separately?

Ive not used ddt4all for ages being honest as i use renolink.

From memory you will need to download the ddt2000 database for it, pretty simple install apart from that.

Keep us updated on how it goes

Looks like for renolink within the UCH configuration there is no option within any of the sub menus to change this - Seems really odd as there is a clutch switch on the pedal that is connected into the main harness....

The UCH module when scanned showed "BCM: X85 et J77(PPP3, V2, PSP, PS, PP)" as the correct name corresponding to the ECU, which is under Clio III on the vehicle selection.

Is there anything else worth trying?

Nothing in the immobiliser section? Anything in engine ecu or upc? Id imagine its somewhere to suit key card setup.

These are the my ECU "types" when performing the full scan to find the .xml files that relate to my cars info.

I've been through all of these and have not found anything to do with clutch depress to start or similar.

With the Renolink software do you have to open an .xml file or is there some kind of auto connect / find function?

Looks about right. I just scan for ecu i need usually using the above menu, double click on the ecu in the list and straight in. Full scan takes too long.

Try ddt4all. I had issues doing meg3 airbag and ended up using ddt4all.

I've tired ddt4all it's a minefield of French words - but I'll give it another go!

Appreciate the help.

Use google lense to translate. Much easier now than using it years ago, trying to translate french shorthand. Was painful.

Just had a quick look on my kangoo which is similar, and there is options in the upc for key/keyless. Look in that area it might have what you need.

Under Clio III / UPC(EMM) / USM Diag Rev 2.1 (X77,X85)

I had a much more limited menu compared to your Kangoo one unfortunately. The image below I'm not connected to the car but shows what I have under UPC.
