Clio 197 Performance Upgrades????

Hey guys, recently bought a 197 and I'm looking to spend a couple of quid increasing the bhp, at the moment all I've bought is a k&n panel filter. What's the best for me to do?

Are the 'easiest' ways to see performance from these

You're only really going to notice the effects of weight removal if you do it properly, ie. strip EVERTHING, which isn't something you're going to want to do.

12bhp sounds a bit optimistic. Where was that at?

A remap on its own will be hardly worth it. Save up and get the list I said all at once



Iirc tdf do an exhaust and map package for around £500

Never in a million years will you see 12bhp…. 2-5 at the most tbh anybody who promises more is pulling the wool over your eyes.

TDF have released a new exhaust for the 197. Have a look in the traders section.

Personally I wouldn't bother. They're not a straight line weapon and never will be unless you boost it or buy overnight parts from Japan.

Enjoy it for what it is IMO. Up to you though.

I wouldn't bother, you'd be lucky if the car actually makes 197 bhp.

Go over to Clio 197.net they will give you good advise mate as people have done it and can tell you if it's all worth it

They were never meant to make 197bhp, it's 197 ps so roughly 194bhp. To be honest though, they rarely make above 180-185 in standard form. Definately get yourself over to clio197.net. There are megane conversions, supercharged ones, and some tuned N/A ones. 220ish seems to be the limit for NA, and that won't come cheap. Megane conversion gets the most bhp/£.
