Clio 197 with the works!!!

  NEED V6!
Been looking into the clio 197 with all the options.
I would be looking at getting the renault sport steering wheel trim, clio cup stickers, and the Cup spoiler an side an front carbon effect body styling. To me this car would look special but is it all worth the money.

Do you think this is worth it or just go buy a second hand Megane 230 F1.

Scrap the climate, ditch the folding mirrors and the rear tints and look for a good deal off one of the traders on the renaultsport.co.uk forum

RenaultSport.co.uk - forums > dealer section. Post up what you want, and see what the dealers on there offer you :) Probably get that spec for closer £16k - maybe less.

Id forget both mate and get yourself a Focus RS itll do the exact same thing the megane can do, better!

IF you buy either the Clio or Megane, what can you expect to sell it on for once you have had enough of it>? Probaly alot less than your going to buy it for!

The focus RS's will go the same way the Escort Cossies did, they were expensive new and more so when 10 years old, to use the old cliche "it will be a future classic" is deinatley the case with them. For the same kind of money you can easily pick up a well cared for example. Keep it nice and itll sell like a hotcake come the time of change!

But then again its just what your after i suppose!

He speaks sense though re: resale, 197s and Meganes just seem to shed value at an alarming rate. There is a 197 on PH for £9.5k ffs!

Much older?!?!? Mate the last ones were registered in 2003, old? :S

To be honest mate just look at Fords History, infact just look on the roads round about you, how many Fords @ 8+ years old have you seen? Millions! There everywhere and the reason is down to reliability!

The RS is iconic and you will find that many that were bought would have been owned by Enthusiasts (People who owned Escort Cosworths) and kept them mint, never seen the rain always garaged bla bla.

I know what id be buying if i had 14-17k to spunk on a car, and i tell you it wouldnt start with Renault and it wouldnt end in Megane!

IMO!

imo,

if u r considering a 197, u'd be better off going as cheap and cheerful as possible.

on cars like these, there's no point going for "fully loaded".

Cup in white with recaros and maybe A/C...... all you need!

You would defo get the price down from the internet quote, I saved around £3k when I got my 197 by going the the dealer section at renault-sport.co.uk

IMHO the only option that will be worth anything come resale will be the cup pack, and AC on the Cups. Trying to shift one without AC would be a nightmare heh.
