Clio 200: Jack question.

Can I use a Mk2 Clio jack on the 200?

The jacking points look the same but i'm not 100%.

Are you going to risk jacking it up on the jacking points?
On the mk2, they are of chocolate construction and the advice is to use the chassis rails and a trolley jack.
As for the question, although the 200 is heavier, the mk2 jack must have something in reserve, does it say what they are rated at? We're only talking an extra 100 kilos or so.

170kg, yeah. The Mk2 jack is rated at two tonnes anyway.

In that case, it should be fine provided the jacking point(s) slot into the top of the jack OK.

Why are you even considering using a peasant jack Chris???? Or is it just something to carry around in-case you get a flat?

I'd advise caution.

The MkII jacks had/have a slot/recess in the top for the jacking point rail to sit into.

On the MkIIIs, it's the opposite way around, there's a recess at each corner beneath the sill, and the top of the jack seats into that.

So using a MkII to jack up a MkIII would give genuine risk that the jack could slip out as it's not located securely.
