thats probably about right, qlthough some ppl might argue that the racing shocks gives the trophy the edge, but down a quarter mile my money would be on the 172cup.

I really doubt there is any difference between them as a general rule. The engines power when it came out the factory was all over the place.

I had a mk2 172 FF and as standard was only putting out 159bhp

My mk2 ph1 172 i have now is faster

Generally the 172 cups do seem to have the edge tho from what i have seen

Also without opening a can of worms, didnt somebody consistantly get a cup packed 182 round a track fastert than a trophy?

Basically there isnt a lot between any of them mate

hehe, how true. seriously tho, was at the MK meet last night, went for blat round the bk roads, chap behind me was in a 182FF with cup packs and he said i definately had the edge, was pulling away in 2nd no probs.

When road tested new, wasn't the 182cup quickest? The engine's get quicker with mileage, so wouldn't that be why the 172cup/mk1 are quickest now?

as stated above the 172 cups have the better bhp/per tonne out of all the renault sports, this is what gives them the edge. As also said above though, we are talking tenths of a second
