Clio Campus Sport 1.2 16v, 55 plate no cambelt?

Just had a look I couldn't see a cambelt and neither could my dad. My dad said that he doesn't think it has an overhead cam. Could anyone please elaborate on this, thanks in advance.

he's wrong i'm afraid, D4F engines have cambelts, most renaults do apart from the odd diesel

name an engine that isn't overhead cam

Well would you be able to tell me how to find out what engine it is? As I can't find the cambelt :S? I was under the impression all clio engines have a cambelt?

you have a 1.2 16V? its a D4F engine with cambelt which powers the waterpump, so that must be changed also

My dad is saying to me that we have two belts one of these is alternator, and the other is the water pump. I have noticed that my engine bay is differant to my friends 1.2 16v. But because his is the dyna and mine is the campus I have always put it down to that?

Basically you have a cambelt that goes between the crankshaft and camshaft via the water pump. You then have a different belt to drive alternator and ac if you have that.

yeah its the updated 1.2 16V, same as your friends, just has the newer intake setup

cambelt engine (D4F is the code) with aircon

Cheers, you don't have an image of the engine with the covers off and cambelt showing do you? Is the cambelt also going through the water pump?
