clio car mark ups

just seen the post on the clio cup...question is how much is the average mark up for dealers on clios?

how do the salesman get paid? do they get a % of the sale price so its in their interests to sell at as high a price as they well get more in their back burner?

the salesman are on a basic rate, and then get a commission based upon the total sales they hace accrued in the month, not sure what the commission rate is though

mark ups are usually around the 15% mark

They also get commission on finance,GAP insurance Etc Etc. The diamond bright kit is bought for as little as £25 but the can charge over £200 quid for it. When I bought my Cup the sales man asked 10 times if I wanted finance, knew fuk all about the car but new loads about the finance options. This is what really pisses me off, if i new as little about my job as some of the salesman new about the cars they sell I would have been sacked years ago.

I had Diamond Bright on my 106 GTi and it was great!

Just wash the thing and it looked as though youd polished it, plus it kept the leather seats in really good condition.

Are you sure it was great and not just because of the huge amount of money your dealer conned you out of?? You can get the same effect by using about £1 worth of Gloss Guard finish!!

I was quoted £11969 by a dealer I know for a CUP. That was 8% discount. They have about 10% to play with.

10% is about right I paid 12150 by just saying what was the best he could do me as on the net could get one for £1150. They had the last laugh as the one they sold me is a right lemon, sorry Renault.
