Clio cup race car air intake material



Anyone know what the hose between the air filter and manifold is made of on the cup race cars

Is it better then a silicone hose?

Where can I get it from?

I am getting my battery put in the boot so should be able to get a similar setup to the cup car (pictured).

You bought what is shown in the picture?

Is the tube better then a silicone one, seems cheap?

I can probably get away with a 45deg silicone hose just wondered whether there was anything better to use.

It's not the best website, but Mark is very helpful and knows what he is talking about. The guy is extremely busy, it's not his full time job. I'm sure he will work on the site when he gets some time.

Very professional and he can get hold of some wicked parts, he drives to Renault every month. Races clio's etc.

Highly recommended.

Why does they have to delete that website? That's a rude opinion.
I know that man in person and he really doesn't care if you buy his items or not. He only wants to help people who are insterested in RSport products (that are very difficult to get because Cup drivers are privileged and are not alloud to resell).
He was a very high placed man with Alpine/Renault Sport for over 35 years and was active with Alpine and Cup from the beginning. He retired 2 years ago, but still delivers goods and drives every 14 days to Renault Sport for the products.
He always anwers the mails within 2 days. You can not say that from every website. There are famous English Renault tuners who never answer there email and specially not when it's not from the UK.
Believe me, but there are many websites that are worse and this one isn't finished

That doesnt look like an OMP strut brace to me ?? thought these were fitted as standard on cup racers ??

Look at the picture (at the top of the thread) has an OMP sticker on it. These are specifically made for the cup car to attach the cup race suspension top mounts...

You can buy them through Renaultsport France, so my French collegues tell me.

but how the hell is that one fitted? i cant see any bolts or anything that secures that to the strut towers???

thats what i thought but wouldnt that make it the same as rear strut braces? ie not bolted or welded just sitting on top of the mounts?

For the racers the body with the cage etc is very stiff already so little chassis flex. This struct brace in the pic is to try and keep the suspension geometry as stable as possible under load (corner and braking etc).

Number of that item 7711155315 and on the French Renault Sport site I saw it was +- 222 euro

We putted that in the boot, but in the cupcar on the picture it's still in front. They sell special battery's for those cupe cars that are smaller and installed very near the dashboard and passengers seat

emailed the company Jesske mentioned I think there from Belgium www.cliosport.org. Got a reply within the hour! I was asking what he thought about the cup intake arrangement vs. the viper.

"I have to check the up to date price for a few people already. I sold many of these, but because of the new RS, prices are changed. I will inform you asap
I can tell you that it won't give you more performance than an ITG filter and that ITG is much better quality. You have to keep in mind that everything they use in Cup is as standard it can be, because they don't care if it's broken the first or second time, they just put another one in it. That means quality is not allways as good as an aftermarket product. I know many tuners love the Viper besides the ITG, but we measured powerlosses in some rpm ranges with the Viper. The ITG is absolutely the best filter you can get

If you want my honest opinion, I wouldn't do this mod because you won't notice the difference with the changes you already did. You've spent lots of money on your mods and if I were you, I would spent my money on an ITG"

So a maxogen is better then a viper for power according to him and dont bother with the cup car bits. Pretty helpful and honest really.
 
ive NEVER rated vipers personally..

were proven a while back on a couple of saxos to actually lose power.

at least that blokes being honest.. wouldnt make a good salesman! lol

yea, i spoke to one of the ITG design fella's for once at length about the Maxogen, and one of the main reasons its expensive is that its properly designed for the application and thoroughly tested, they only do about 10 direct fit kits....

people will happily spend £300+ on an exhaust system that might actually lose you power, but when it comes to the induction side, people moan about spending half that when genuine gains can be had with the right stuff
