Clio DCi( Looking to buy)...

  Clio 182
Hi,
Sorry I know this is a cliosport forum but was just looking for some advice. I had a look at a Clio DCi65 today. These are very rare around my area, it was based at a dealership and was exactly what I am looking for.Details below:

02 reg, 54k, 1.5 DCi Extreme
sport seats, alloy wheels, cd changer, normal options.

It was up for £4,495 and I was wondering what you guys thought? Also, has anyone had a timing belt change on the DCi, if so how much was the change?

Thanks for any feedback. :D

nope very expensive.

My 02 was 3.5k with 37k on clock. Arnold Shark. 2 owners FRSH. belt is due at 5yrs or 72, but isnt particularly expensive. (mine was renault to go vehicle which was also a demo)

I had a look in my parkers guide and it reckons the price is ok. I think the problem I have here is I live in the countryside and there is no competition so the prices are higher. maybe take a trip to london next weekend. just found a clio dci 65 extreme 2, 50k, black, 52reg, £4,493.

still to expensive mate. they are quite rare.. so searching is required, mine came from dundee through the AC network. it was on the forecourt for 4k.

oh right. yeh i will have a good look around. what did you think about the one i mentioned in the previous reply? what is the difference between an extreme and extreme 2?

cheers,
mark :)

  ST on the way...
There was a 2004 DCi 80 Dynamique in the AutoTrader for 4.5k with 16k on, it's gone now tho :(

the extreme 2 to is lower spec iirc, different colour seats, no fog lamps, sport suspensions, spoiler, CD, and a few other random bits. lol.

extreme1 is the same as dynamique, but buyer got CD player and metallic for £200 premium (actual cost of optons £350) and the very dersirable turqoiuse seats... ;)

I know the clio on the top has only 42k on the clock yet the third one down has 63k and its the same price. even though they are the same model etc. I dunno, this whole car buying is a mind blowin, all i know is I have money and no car. haha. :D

wish me luck

72k/5 years the cambelt should be chnaged at its not much to do £150~250 at a garage including Renault places use a Renault garage though as they have the right tools to do this enough places have messed them up before now.

^^ did it have a sunroof?
All of the none RS phase 2's have.

how much would you get for a standard dec 03 1.5dci 80 dynamique, no aircon, with 58k, year's tax, spotless etc..

Im sorry which instance are we on about here...??? buying a DCi, Im not sure any of my cars you have had a big say on....

Dont go talking the big car dealer just cause you sell them....

You mean yours didnt run out petrol just after you drove it off the forecourt, or have to go back to the dealers to have problems fixed on 3 occasions even though you highlighted them before delivery.... or go to collect the car and it not be ready....

thats the extra Arnold Clark and Chris service;)

it was in for an extra day that it should of been with a little gear box problem, obviously caused by the previous owner, but they did allow me the use of a rapid 1.2!! and ill not mention the 6 weeks to sort the private plate, but you know im not one to moan haha:rasp:

^^ Haha well I am one to moan. Ive been through the Arnold Clark standard of service a few times.. lol and I can safely say never again.

"Promises Delivered" someone had a sense of humour in their marketing anyhow.

tb fair the Dci has been fine since, but thats more good luck than good service from AC. Thankfully the combo of chris and AC is no more, probably a relief to most of the their wigan customers.

Thats a bit expensive mate, you should be able to pick up a decent dynamique with reasonable mileage for around 4kish as said above.

The cambelt is around 2 to 2&1/2 hours, let a specialist do it though, theres 2 pins needed or else it gets messed up
