clio dci100

right a quick question about the dci 100 clio

what sort of mod's would you need to do to get 225+ hp out of one?

can you upgrade the turbo, put in intercooler ect ect????

and kno im not looking to get one ;)

Realistically you're looking at the K-Tec chip that'll take it up to 120bhp.

Then, dunno. It is a Diesel afterall.

It's a 1.5 litre diesel. Doubt it tbh. You also used the wrong torque word, we're talking about turning force, not the place in Cornwall. ¬_¬

pmsl, ok mate you got me there,

edde of here (who knows nie on everything about cars) wreckons you can get a dci100 upto the 300hp mark and it will do it comfy, not too much strain on the engine box ect ect.

wtf, 225hp? mental or what?

decent remap will take it to 130, after that your looking at bigger and better injectors and turbo. edde will tell you later.

why not just get the new megane sport dci175 and remap that, that will be like 200bhp + a shed load of torque

megane sport dci cost alot more then a late clio dci, then the money you save can be spent to get the gains up, also would be a hell of a sleeper lol,

black clio with dci badges on kicking out 300hp pmsl, strip that bad boy, on coilovers and your laughing most things off the road.

with that sort of money to put the clio up to 300bhp, wouldnt you rather just get an evo or impreza p1 etc..

I'm sorry. I must be on drugs. A 300BHP 1500cc Diesel? With little strain on the engine.

Okay, if possible I'm all bloody ears. I know Renaults old F1 1.5 Petrol Turbo kicked out somewhere in the 1000bhp mark. But that's petrol and a race engine designed to be binned after a race.

1.5 DCI DIESEL (100bhp) - Increase to 119bhp

Heh, dunno. Email Dave or something. Diesels are pretty easy to tune with fuel pressures using the pump and all that.

I'd rather not email anyone. Its common knowledge tuning boxes are utter shite compared to a proper remap. £399 thats a bit expensive!! Can get a proper remap done for £345 which would be miles ahead in every aspect.

We'll boost fuel pressure but we'll keep everything else the same... Theres some resistors on eBay you might be interested in aswell.

Go on..

I'm not disagreeing with you here, but they have different purposes. Not everyone has the time to go down to a specialist and have that done to their car. Plus it voids the warranty if picked up. With a diesel tuning box (of which there is a massive market for AND they DO work) you can just unplug the thing when your car goes in for work and such.

Yeah, I've heard of these resistor things, infact I had a mate who got tempted an tried one. It just made the car run like shite.

chill out Tom, he's only quoting what KTec are advertising!

This is how you get 300bhp from a dci
thanks to edde and dcioffice.net

Basically build the engine right

First off you realy need to get some storng liners made for the block then start at the crank need to be a stronger drop forged one with more oil cooling rods need to go to H section there ssoem cheapish chinese rods which should be fine

Ballenced bottom end

Pistons custom made lower CR back to about 13 from 18.8

Block needs to be honed

Head gasget well all gasgets are custom made.

Head work serious big valves three anle seats

Custom cam grinds from blank

Intake and exhaysr manifold stuff no good need to go custom again realy

Idealy I'd use a superchrager and turbo charger the 1.6 from the Mini would be fine you could do it with a turbo alone but for long term idealy a charger would be nice so could go easier on the engine plus for the weight its no real issue.

Turbo again custom made depends on rpm you want to use could do to about 5.7k or so safe with the bottom end built as above. GT28 a bit big but hey you need to see.

whole new enxhaust system made.

Injectoos need to be custom done and you'd need either duel fuel pumps realy as there no good enough single one. Easy enough to do though.

Run say 2000 bar pressures if you can get the injectors buit.

Stock ECU should be OK with remapping. need some higher boost sensors though.

You'd be realy using the 105 block as its stronger bigger bearings etc.

Fuel pump in take swop for a tunned Evo one easy to do and cheap will support the HP easy plus higher fuel line pressures anice addition.

I see how they 'work' as such but they aren't good for the car - as with any thing off the shelf that alters fuel pressure, maps, injection etc.

M

mini-valver

300 bhp diesal=shitloads of torque. Anything much more than standard power through the Renault gearbox will last all of 10 minutes.

That's an expensive build, 5k easily. My car is costing a lot and that's without touching the bottom end!

Seriously, I'd love to see a 1.5 diesel cranked up to 300BHP. Just to hear the bang it'd make.
If done right would be fine realy ok not stock lifespan for bearing etc but it would last.

The box would need to be all new but that sort of power could be done.
