i could be wrong but from my own experiences it dosent affect braking which way they go on only the way you have them causes more noise under braking like i say i could be wrong lets ask ben ???

Do the disks have to be run in? I left the old pads in there as they have plently left in them about 2/3 (Mintx)

Bondy, tell that to Chris H:cry:

just out of interest what is trhat axle stand under? ive never relly been 100% sure where to put them, i used to use the chassis runners but after seeing my dads 309 crumple under it, ive gone to usign the reinforced points on the corners of the sills. wheres the best palce?

To be honest, I aint got a friggen clue, I just stick it under there for extra support with the axel stand, the best place I would think is where the trolly jack is but then you cant use both at the same time:confused:

Jesus you made a big mess for changing discs! lol :p

I always change pads and discs together just because old discs with new pads wear badly, and vice versa. As long as your old pads aint got funny grooves and scores then you should be fine.

Direction dont matter too much as it has nothing to do with braking efficiency, although some will talk about a larger leading edge.

Run them in, yea......why not.

Is that a white magnum? If so then young sir there is hope fort you yet! Love those things, in fact all magnums are nice.

If you have the discs the wrong way around the gasses and the dust is sent to the centre of the discs where it has a hard time escaping which will cause the pad to float worse than solid discs.

The way they should go basically vent the hot gasses and the dust outwards towards the wheel where theres a ready supply of coolish air.

You should have used new pads. Doesnt matter if the pads were 500 miles old they will not bed in to the new disc right. However if you are gonna keep them take them out and run them over with some sandpaper.

He has stuck the axle stand under the subframe, not the correct place, but it shouldnt cause much damage unless you leave the car sitting on it for ages.

The correct place is the chassis runners, dont stick a stand on the edge of the sill, the floor or anything else. A solid box section.

Your dads 309 sounds liek a right dath trap. Had a similar thing with a mk4 escort, ford jack int he jackign point startyed jacking up and the car didnt lift but th ejack went through the sill.

Thanks for the tip Chris, Does any body know what size that nut is in the center of the hub?

Wanna change my rears to, got bearings for it as well is it b**ch or just as easy as the front?

P.s. its a Delmonty fruits of the world Ice cream, Kiwi and Papya I believe mmmm....;)
