Clio door edge paint

  Mondeo STTDCI

Heard someone somewhere (not on here) whining that the paint on the door edges was too THIN and came off far too easily if the door edge took a knock (on another car for instance)

Any thoughts? I know I ruined my door edges on brick walls.......

I sprayed a bit on my 172 once and it was a crap job, so I took it to a bodyshop to sort it. He said there was enough in one spray can from Halfords to respray the whole car Renault style.

my door edges are chipping away (paint) too. Not sure if its worth getting them sorted at a bodyshop, dont want them to go rusty though..

The problem is, if you try to get a good covering on the edge of a panel, due to the nature of the paint while still wet, it will more than likely result in a run which is even less acceptable to a consumer than a thin coat of paint.
My advice would be to not park too close to brick walls!
