Just been out for an hour or so in the Cup as I have new discs and pads all round and I thought I would see what they feel like under some spirited driving, conditions permitting. Also got some new rubber up front.
I thought it best to stick to fairly public roads as the back B roads are not too dry and sticky right now. First thing I noticed was nearly all the roads I used have new speed limits on them - 50's to 40's, 40's to 30's etc and there are plenty of Police around (Fife Police are on a major drink drive/speeding intiative) so there was not much chance to open the taps.
It got me thinking; there's not very much fun to be had on the roads these days with all the clamping down. I'm all for responsible driving and staying within the limits but it's beginning to feel like there is very little opportunity to enjoy driving. Anyone else feel similar? The 'fun' in driving has been ever so slightly removed, imo.
And if you are interested, the fronts brakes are now Brembo max grooved discs with DS2500 pads (Black Diamonds with DS2500 previously) and standard discs and pads on the back. The new tyres are Dunlop Duran (thought I'd try something new). All new additions felt fantastic, by the way.
