clio fuel usage!!

have a 1998 mk2 clio 1.2 8v has very high mileage (225,378) but still runs and drives fine apart from one thing, it uses fuel like no tomorow, have serviced it including new oil filter, oil, spark plugs,air filter, having to put about 60 quids worth of fuel a week and only getting about 70 miles out of it!! anyone got any suggestions i can try? would be much appreciated

had the fuel pump looked at? and your not driving with your foot welded to the floor are you?

havnt had the pump checked yet and no driving it as best as i can to get as much fuel economy as possible,
