Clio Handbrake

  Clio
ello everybody, does anybody know how to dismantal the handbrake? As I bought one of the alluminium buttons for it and havent got a clue where to start.... I have been told by a couple of people that the best way to do it is to drill a hole into the old button and pull it out with a screw?? Has anybody done this before?

Thanks, Mike

Problem with that is what happens if the geear stick dont go on strait away or if f***s up some how.... your screwed then yeah...Risky

p.s. make sure your not parked on a hill when you do it.

Get a flat headed screwdriver and prise it out from the bottom. Then once that is out the new one just pops in.

No you dont have to take it apart. Get a flat screwdriver and put it in the gap between the bottom of the button and the cover Then you just lever it out. Would be easier if I had a pic to show you.

ah right i get you now, cheers, so it just needs to be a small/narrow flat headed screw driver then in that case eh?

Ye that should do it. As long as it fits in the gap it will be fine. Was easy to get it out when I did mine so you shouldn't have any trouble.

I didnt damage mine when I did it. If your worried just put some masking tape around the cover to protect it before you do it :)
