Clio in bad taste

BenR and I were just ripping up and down some dual carriageway comparing our tuned 16vs "in the name of science" when a Clio got in front of us.

I thought my prayers had been answered in the form of a 172 to race...but lo and behold it was a black 1.2 bum basic model with "Sport" under the Renault badge and lots of funny Saxo VTS "16v" badges all over the side of it. Looked cack and was very reluctant to get out of the way. At least a Dynamique actually is a 16v and looks the part!

I dont have a problem with making 1.2s look nice - I did up my old 1.2. But the whole badge pretend thing just invites a slaying!

Yeah, I think its very bad for fuel consumption though as I put in £10 of fuel earlier today and now its all gone!!

How w**k are valvers on petrol. I stick a tenner in, pop down the shops a couple of times and its ready for filling up again! lol. But its so tempting to plant the foot to the floor every single time I drive it!

i can do well over 320 miles on a tank which is a long way, and at about 90mph......

Must be comparing mine to my old car. A 1.1 cinquecento sporting lol.

Seems poo to me on petrol but then it is a 1.8 16v. best I have ever got is 33mpg and that was steady driving.

I get very good MPG usually, but it defintely drops when I pop the exhaust for flames and when Im racing BenR!!

Thats my problem. I seem to like to plant my right foot down a lot. makes it drink the fuel quite bad!
