clio loosing speed

Hey I've got a 1.6 16v Clio its top speed should be 120 but it gets to 110 and really struggles to get to 115 and hardly does that. whats the 1st things i should be checking for to get it back to the 120s

  Shed.
try driving a 1.2

90mph, struggle to 110. 115 is a piss take.

anyways same with all cars. 172- 130 then to 140 is a struggle.

Shouldnt be driving that fast...:p

my 1.2 pulls all the way to 110 and past it with ease, right upto the limiter, and it feels solid as a rock there too.... odd.

yeah just got away from the 1.2 clio its sat on the drive next to the 1600 :rasp: Do you ever go to any of the meets in Hull?

Get it serviced.

Some engines are just naturally down on power plus 115 is more than enough realy.

isnt 115mph on the clock the max the gearbox will allow before the limiter in 5th on the lower models edde?

Nope not realy I've seen over 120 on mine.

Gearbox won't limit you red line will bt since power drops off you are unlikly to hit redline in top gears in a smaller car
