Clio making noise when letting off accelerator

Today after about 20 odd miles on the motorway my car started making a weird whining type sound which was intermittent but definitely there only when letting off the accelerator. What are we thinking this will be?
It didn't seem to be doing it when i went for a drive then but it was definitely noticeable. Had been thinking it was maybe dogbone mount? Although it was very windy and wet and had come when the window wipers were on initially, but may be coincidental.

Any helps appreciated!

Sounds like top engine mount bush. I just has the same issue on my 197. Its an easy DIY job. I have some photo's if you need a guide.

Yeah please! Although I went out for another drive today and it wasn't doing it at all! Really weird... would it be intermittent? Is there a way to test it? My clios just a 1.2 mk2.

Mine's a mk3 but give the part shown in the image a wiggle. If there is some play then that might be your issue.

Noise may have come from another vehicle you were traveling in convoy with on the motorway.

Well i've done over 60 miles in it and the noise hasnt returned.. I have noticed that my gear changing in 2nd and 1st seems to be getting tougher though.. looking at dogbone mount? I'll have a wiggle of the top bush. How would i know if it's the dogbone?
