clio mk 2 phase1 misfire



  clio mk2 ph1 1.6 rxe
renault clio MK2 1.6 RXE (8 valve)

misfring after filling my tank up at petty staion, went into limp mode and wouldn't go past 5mph

it could hardly idle, i had to keep tapping the acc pedel for it to hit about 3k but then flames kept poping out of the exsaust with lots of bangs and poping noises :S

had to get my dad to drive it back it was so bad.

i then had it took to the garage to get the ecu read and he told me there are 2 fault's one wich is within the brain of the ecu and my lambada sensor.

within driving it about 30 secs up the road to go in my m8's garage he took the old lambada sensor off and it was really smokey etc looked bad anyway, changed it with the new sensor and still the same thing so i'm gussing my ecu is screwed.

any advice would be great.

dont know if related, but my motorbike did the exact same thing, revs wouldnt go over tickover and kept cutting out, had keep putting throttle on tapping it to keep moving with hugeeee misfires and noise with slow speed.
Found the front ht lead wasnt sitting on the spark plug properly and the spark plug was completely flat with no gap. So maybe check spark plugs see if there ok?

thx for the reply's, i changed all spark plugs to ngk and still the same problem. just looking for someone mobile to check over my ecu again, as the garage said he wasn't 100% sure on the actual problem as he is new to using the equipment :S

my m8 said it is running rich or something. it's throwing to much fuel threw.

sorry i also forgot to mention when i tried starting the car last night after we fitted the lambada sensor it cut out. i turned the key and everything went off lights etc then it came back on about 10 secs later

i'm running the car of an optima redtop 4.2 so there should be no problem there.

still not fixed :( been to three garages .

i found some info and i get the the error code d on my dashboard witch means an injection signal fault has been detected.
