Clio MK2 PH1 Sport. Problems...

Posting this on behalf on my Girlfriend.

Eletrical warnign light is on all the time and the car is very keen on stalling for no reason, usually when sitting idle. It also revs itself quite a bit, again when idle but this is only now and again. Also when the engine has benn switched off there is a really loud ticking noise coming from under the bonnet

Any help on what could be wrong would be great, cheers!

Could be the O2 sensor, as mine did the rev thing until I gave it to Mike @ Rentech

Common problems, TDC sensor, O2 Sensor and dirty Idle Control Valve.
Possibly a restricion of fuel flow, when was filter last done..

Loud ticking noise.... coming from near the batter area? could be fuel relay, the little black fuse like things. try taking out and cleaning contacts. possibly spray with damp start or WD.

Not sure if these will sort you out but worth a bash.

U say sport, i take it you mean a 172?

What does the manual say about the electrical warning light?

I had the same problem, was a fault in the fuel injection system. I forget which bit though.

Cheers for that Andy, no its a 1.2 Sport..with the fog lights, alloys, half buckets etc. I will have a check of those things at the weekend and let you know how I get on.

Filter was done about 2 months ago for the MOT. where will i find the Idle Control Valve and the little black fuse like things?

Im nearly sure its 2 do with ful system TBH, its just finding out which bit...
