Clio MK2 VS Type R

I Enjoy driving an mk2 172 in Hong Kong, where japanese cars dominate, what i cant understand is,: when talking about performance i hear that a type R (new civic )or (integra )performs better than our best performance clio sports ,im originaly from lebanon where there is so many rallies the most important one is http://www.rallyoflebanon.com/http://www.rallyoflebanon.com/ ( stage of middle east championship ) if you click above link and go to "Results" and you see the "final clasification" of 2004 Clio rs group N 172 in 6th position left behind so many 4x4 turbo cars evos and subarus

can someone explains ?

thx

reliability is probably the most important aspect of rallying, look at peugeot in this years WRC. they had a fantastic car but were let down by an awful gearbox

Thanks All, so the big credit is for the pilot of the Clio rs who left behind 12 Turbo Charged Cars 7 MITSUbishi EV0 VI and 4 Mitusbishi EVO VII a Subaru Impreza and a GOLF GTI KIT CAR all driven by known pilots .

Yes i believe the most of the credits is for the drivers because the winners of

Marlboro Rally of lebanon 1993

1 - Alain Oreille - Jean-Marc Andrié on Renault Clio Williams
2 - Jean Ragnotti - Gilles Timonier on Renault Clio Williams
3 - Sleiman Slim - Youssef Ghannam on Nissan Pulsar GTI-R
Cheers
