Clio mk3 cigarette lighter wires

I've got a Clio Mk3 cigarette lighter was broken so I decide to buy USB cigarette lighter the original wiring colours are black yellow blue and on the USB is negative and positive so I put the black on the negative and the yellow on the positive and left the blue alone it was only when my next door neighbour told me I had a light out things got kind of strange driver side lights front and back working passenger side dead so I thought I connect the blue to the yellow all lights seem to be working fine so tonight at 10:30 I decided to go out to the car and started the engine my front side light bulb is now on on and my number plate bulbs are on can anyone help please thanks
