Clio RSi 1.8 8v - Not the original gearbox

Hello,

I have a clio rsi 1.8 8v 1995.
My old JB3 gearbox has died so ive replaced it with a mk3 clio 1.2 2009 gearbox.
The new one is shorter, so it improved the acceleration of the car, but reduced its max speed.
My question is - is the new gearbox strong enough to handle a 1.8 engine? as i said, it was on a 1.2 one.
What will be the consequences?
There is something else about the behavior of the car that i suppose to take care?

Thanks already,
Ron.

It won't be any weaker. The (slightly) stronger boxes are the JC5

Good to know. I was afraid that the new gearbox gonna die soon.
So what are the difference between the JB3 and JB1? If its not its strengh... so its only the shorter ratios?

Anouther question - what type of oil should I use?
It must be TRANSELF? what type for the specific gearbox?
