Clio Side Strips

Car  Liquid Yellow R27
I've not long ago brought a 1.4 Clio, 04 plate in a silver with a tint of blue colour. It's got the plastic side strips, which I'm not a fan of. Was just wondering where I could get some colour coded or black side strips from? Or if I should attempt to spray them myself?

Whats your paint code? If its NV432 I have a set of side strips in blue for sale for £45 + Postage.
 
Awesome, I've been meaning to sign up. So might well do it now. Would you be able to link me to the guide I'd need or is it pretty easy to find anyway?

Not to sure of the paint code Pete, will have a look. Am I right in saying it should say the paint code on the inside of the door panel?

Yup inside of driver door shut.

It is fairly easy to do yourself but its time consuming, you have to sand down to take off the textured effect the plastic has, primer with plastic primer (from halfords), then paint in colour.

Sign up here though, well worth the money!
 
Thanks Pete, I will go and check the paint code now and let you know. I have plenty of time though, so that wouldn't be to much of a problem to do it myself.

yh you can use it for pretty much anything really. I sprayed mine yesterday and turned out well

Nice job man! I like the yellow bullet with the black. I might give it a try this week then. I've got a silver with a tint of blue coloured Clio. Do you think they'd look best body colour or black? I'm hoping to get rear black tints on the windows and the alloys done black as well. What do you think?

I no the colour :) I would go black bullets with white writing and black diamonds and clio badge. black wheels look good too, but i'm not a fan of window tints but each to there own :D

Thanks for the advice. I think the writing is silver already, so might just tape that bit off when spraying the bullets black and leave the writing silver. Will spray the diamonds and clio badges black as well I think. I quite like tints though, but will see how it looks after I've done the other things. Will probably do the wheels black before considering tints as well.

This is what it looks like at the moment. I've just got some pressed plates and that's about all I've done for the exterior at the minute.

Anyone know what paint I would need for my Clio? Want to do the side strips colour coded...

Colour code: NV632 (Silver with a blue tint)

Haha. I didn't realise they did paint by the actual colour code in places like Halfords. Thought they were named paints. Heard the right colour would be Gris Boreal. Will pop into halfords anyhow. Cheers mate.
 
My Clio is the same colour, 632, and i heard it was called Platinum. Let us know if you get it from Halfords cos im after painting my sides aswell, gonna have a go at my fog blanks first

Yeah, I've heard Platinum Silver and Gris Boreal. Those are the two names I've heard floating around our car colour mate. I will pop into halfords at some point and try to find out. Will be sure to let you know. I will also send you a PM to my progress thread so you can keep an eye out on that as I will be updating that when they get done.
 
Nice one mate! Well i've got the next 3 days off work so i might pop in myself tomoro, will post in here with my findings and start my own progress thread so i dont hijack this one.

Nipped into Halfords today, they sell it but you have to get it mixed and therefore its double the price of the ones they carry in stock
 
Give autopaint in sthelens a call or drop them an e-mail with your Paint code, make model etc etc and see what sort of price it is.

I got a can of RB for £7 off them.
 
I've just checked them out and it works out at £11.93 with postage, so I'm only saving £2.......think I'll just get it from Halfords purely for ease lol

Yeah will do, took some pics of the prep work today so will get a progress thread going soon. Paint was £13.99 in the end, they have it as Gris Boreal on their system but Platinum in the paint book they have.

Nice one dude. Best to just go in and give them the colour code though I suppose?
