clio sport 172 help with misfire :-(

  Clio sport 172
hi,

looking for a little help with a problem which has occured on my clio 172 about 2months ago. i have taken the car to a garage and he put it on a computer and found a code but the problem is when he phoned our local renault garage they said the code relates to a sensor which does not exsist on the clio???? i dont know the code at the moment but will get it later this afternoon and share it on here.

right for the explanation on what happens with the car.

when the engine has been turned off for a few hours (at night or after a day in work) when i start the car and pull away there is a bad flat spot at just below 2k revs.if i pull over and press on the accelerator a raise the revs upto 1750revs-2krevs the revs will drop and the car starts to misfire.if i turn the engine off and back on the problem disapears and runs spot on????

i had the plugs, leads and coil pack changed late last year and it has just been serviced.

the garage suggested changing the throttle body which i have done and the problem is still there.

anyone one here heard or experienced this problem before?

thanks for reading

just spoke to the garage and he said the code that come up on his computer was " BIO AIR MODE" any ideas????

thanks

Bio air Mode is related with Air condition system..i looked a bit on web about this coz i found it interresting and uncommon(i think)..
So..everything about "Bio" and "Air" take u to Aircondition systems or Exhaust systems..in "our" case(i have a RS 172 PH1) it should be A\C as the exhaust system of clios have nothing more than a catalist&sensor for faults and warnings lights on panel(depends from model) or(if you run a racing system)...as for "MODE" im even more sure that is related to an electical prob. or need reprograming ecu.

Just focus a little on AirCondition area and throu ECU to see what computer will give you

p.s When did you change throttle body??, what did you installed ??

Carlos im not a proffectional on this matters, am just trying to help you "thing" an option, NOT GIVING GUIDE SO DON'T DO ANYTHING IF YOU HAVE NOT A PROFESSIONAL WITH YOU!!! thanks for understanding ;)

jonny - i live in south wales, about 20mins from cardiff.

Tsiaklis - thanks for the help.i changed the throttle body for another standard one which i bought off ebay. i have spoken to a renault garage now so they can try their computer as their codes are different to they codes of the garage i took the car to (different make computers) hopefully they will be able to pin point the problem.
im very interested in your thoughts of it being the air con unit as i havent had it re-gased since ive had it (3yrs ago), you think that could have caused it? didnt think the air con unit could cause probs with the driving of the car.

going to book it into renault for some time next week if i can and if they find it i will post it straight on here.

thanks for the help both

lets hope its just the garage computers fault and not the actual car :)
or.....i thought that now!!!! did you wash your bay\engine before the prob??? if yes...then try look at fuses if are still wet..or if the water vaborized then it may left some "salt"(we say).... in english i don't really know what its called(sorry) anyone that knows pls tell

lwell!!! any electrical fault can cause this kind of probs. if we say that ecu is the brain of human..and the brain say to legs "walk fast" and legs are listen but don't understand, they will try move even if the command is not clear..(here we have the misfire)
if u didn't had misfire then the command does't even reach "legs", legs does't respond so....brain(ecu) is dead!

you did good find other garage for second opinion. thats for sure;)

Misfire happens when the engine does her sickle..burn the fuel in pistons BEFORE valves are fully closed...(or the oposite)

hey people,
think the problem may be solved! i took my car to a main dealers yesterday so they could look at it today and they have found that the EGR valve is opening and closing on its own and therefor faulty. They have started the job in changing it so hopefully tomorrow when i pick it up the problem will be solved :) £185 supplied and fitted :-( but if it solves the problem i dont car i will have it running sweet again!!! will do a post to update if the problem has been sorted thanks for your help guys
