  172 PH1,Skoda oct VRS

i currently have clio sport mk1 but my has just brought a new car and his old company car is up for grabs its skoda octavia VRS with 240bhp its been chipped lowered 19inch rims looks well nice you reckon i should swap my clio for it after some advice.

cheers

stick with the oct if i were you

clio is a good car, but IMHO the octavia is a better all round car

Those are very different cars. You need to work out what you want from the car.

The Octavia is a cracking car, but is pure overkill for me. I dont need a bigger car.

My mate is 20 with a Octy VRs! lol

In the end of the day they are very nice cars! I really like them! Dont go to bad and handle well for a tank! Vag too!

oops thats braking the law if you drive it more than him

nice cars. still holding their value if you want a sub 10k miles only two years old its gonna cost you £10k which is 182 full fat money on a 54 plate with under 10k.

i like them and the fabia is also very nice. the 20v engine sounds really nice when tuned but i cant see a big heavy car handling as tight as the clio but who cares thats why the 182 is for enthusiats on a budget who want a newish car with climate + airbags + powersteering.

i certainly wouldnt mind one but its obvious that 180hp isnt enough and remap + zorst / induction is needed. thing is i always try claim my mods on insurance and build up my no claims also.. you not actually building up your no claims if its on your dads and its illegal i think anyway..

yeah but its group 18 and that will be silly price at 20

doesnt matter, if you cant afford the car and tbe insurance, you cant afford to run the car

not something id like to risk, and by the sounds of the mods, its apparent its unlikely to be your dads car

worth the risk? 8k down the drain if proven that you have defrauded the insurance company? id say no, get your own oplicy, yes it will be expesive to start, but thats how it will be regardless, daddy wont be around forever

like most kids, its best to build up your NCB which your are not doing at the mo, best to get a small engine hatch for several years to get started, if you dont do it now while youre probably at home still, wait a couple of years when youve got your own place and some insurance company wants 1500 quid for a metro!!! a bit boring but true.. TOP TIPS over for today...
