Their are two types of rack supplied for the rs they they crossed over on the ph1 x plate mine is the earlier SMI type not sure on the type code for the later but the rack and rack and ends have slightly different fitment on both (thread diameter/ lenght of rack ends) . Mine had a sticker on the rack so I peeled it off and stuck it in the back page of my service book for further reference. I no this to be correct because I rebuilt my rack inner/outers track arms and replaced rack bushes last year. Hope this helps
Yep just need to find out which it is iuf you cannot drive the car just remove the arm then and take them to car parts place least you'll know which you want
Iirc the later type rack ends are slightly longer and have thicker diameter thread into rack. Try having a close look for sticker on the rack itself proberly on the underneath ,look for 3 letters in top left corner of sticker in darker text. Hope this helps I cannot remember the later rack code for sure but think it started with a T phone your local main dealer tbs.
Tbh if you need the earlier type SMI the main dealer dont supply these parts anymore you will have to go to a local motor parts supplier for the earlier inner rack ends. They still supply the later type in a complete inner/outers pre built kit because this rack replaces the earlier type? Oh and the thread on the inners is a LEFT HAND THREAD IIRC try turning the spanner the other way.
