CLIO TURBO

Hello;

First sorry about my english but i live in Mexico and we develope the turbo kit for the 172 version, i read somo articles of your forum from abouth six months ago. First its increideble that some people think to install a turbo with a compretion ratio of 11 to 1, we used JE racing forged pistons with plasma total seal rings, we are using now a T3 turbo and the power was amazing because we have 20 more hp than our firts version, we have 1 year with the car without any problem, adn our quality is very impresive, we use aviation conections, silicon hoses, aditional injection, tubo timer, turbonetics hose clamps and much more things. Please feel free to contact me or you can visit my page at http://www.autodynamica.comwww.autodynamica.com also ilet me know how can i send some images with our last week dyno results.

Regards

Luis Galan

Can u give me some advice on how to turbo F7P engine?

Anyway...at which pressure do you run the turbo? 20 hp gain is like...0,2

Check their website, the whole kit including pistons etc is $5,500

Thats only £3,287.31 at todays rate!

FFS that makes BBs valver turbo look even more pricey

Hello everybody;

Soon you can have a Turbo demo, i cant tell much more but we are very close to have a dealer for Europe, since seven months ago we are in touch with them and we are arranging last details, the wheels were adapted for me because i use the original centers of Renault and maybe our dealer can sell those for you. Thanks for the coments the car is runing now with 15 psi and 260 hp at the flywheel.

What about the 1,4 and 1,6 16v engines??????

If you could use a T2 or a T25 insteed of T3 it would definately be the best....And also the pistons must be of a smaller diameter...

Many of us in the Greek Renault club would be interested in such a modification....

The BB tuning one is running around 15-16 psi from a 1.8 16v lump and this is producing the same power, so why is it only making 260bhp at the fly ?

Maybe they only did that amount because anything more would be pretty pointless from a usable power point of view. Would be nice to have a Clio with nearly 300bhp tho:D

We dont have nothing yet for te 1.6 engines, because in Mexico our market is the 172 hp but if our future dealer want to have somo for that engines we can develope a kit. our T3 is a modified turbo with a 7 size intake compresor wheel. i dont undestand why you ask me about the smaller pistons.

Nah my point is if a 1.8 16v running 15-16 psi can make the same amount of power a 2.0 16v running the same psi then there is something not right maybe ?

I would expect the 2.0 16v that has 172 bhp to easily make more power than the 1.8 16v that makes 137bhp normally at the same psi !

300 bhp is easy with these engines but the transmission is the issue. Try running 300bhp through a standard box and watch it go bang !

The pistons of the 1,6 16v are of a smaller diameter than the pistons of the Rs....

Do u use intercooler?Cause I didnt read it in your first post.I think that in warm climates intercooler is a must...

Anyway that kit is awesome and the power u produce is great too with a good value for money.

If I had an Rs I would definately think about it..

Cheers from Greece.

hey mike, i cant read the translated page any chance u could write it up or adjust? :oops:

15 psi is just over 1 bar so double the stock amount of air going to the engine. So how come you dont get close to twice the stock power. Im guessing there is no intercooler which would account for power loss.

How come the ngine has had no problems with intake temps ~90degrees above ambient is the engine very strong?

Also if you dont have an intercooler why? I would think running with a lower boost pressure would aid longevity of the engine so intercooling would be worthwhile.

Excellent to see a 172 turbo though or should that be 258 turbo (Renault claim it in DIN or something)

Hello everybody;

There are some diferences here, the last time we went to the Dyno we have only 10 psi and the car reach 260hp at the fly, now we are runing on 12 psi but we dont probe at the dyno yet, at 15 psi was imposible to use because we are using the stock clutch, the other problem is the conecting rods, we think to change it for run at 15 psi with out any problem, maybe tomorrow we can probe at the dyno with 12 psi, now is the first time we use 12 and the aceleration was amazing, as i tell you i think by the first or second week of January our dealer must be have a Demo car to probe that our kit is real with a very good quality. And Chavy Boy you have reason with 15 psi we can recah easy 300 hp but for the moment its not safe for us, maybe we have upgrades in the future.

And of course we have an intercooler, let me know how can i upload images to send a lot of them an the dyno graphics. or if you like you can visit our Mexican forum at http://www.clioclub.com.mxwww.clioclub.com.mx let me check the correct link please

Thanks for all your coments.

so arturo what was the total cost of the kit and fitting in the queens english pound please? :oops: and how long does the conversion take? thanks.

haitch, the cost of the kit in Her Royal Majesty GB pounds was 3300 and the conversion took one week. These guys really know what they are doing!!! Not a lot of time considering everything is hand made!!!

Danny Boy, the silver mirrors are MOMO mirrors. They run for about 68 pounds here in México.

Have a nice day,

Arturo

thanks for the reply arturo, thats a nice price, makes a mockery of certain other conversions eh. well its a dilema for me now as i have 1500 saved for head n cams, do i save a bit more for the turbo or...decisions decisions...
