Clio V6 service...where????

Asking on behalf of my mate who needs his vee servicing & cam belt changed
Can anyone give some recommendations as to where in the midlands he could get it done??
He's considering just biting the bullet and going to renault to get it done but I've told him to avoid renault in nottingham, as if I said they were a useless bunch of tossers it would be a massive understatement.
I wouldn't trust them to change a wheel nut on my valver - a task they recently and epicly failed at- let alone £2k's worth of major servicing.

So to sum up I need recommendations for decent Renault specialists or stealers not much more than 2 hours drive (ideally) from Nottingham - as muggins here has offered to ferry him to and from if need be

If I was south of the border it would be SG motorsport for me! I got it all done at reno for 940 though

oh yeah SG motorsport is appraently decent, but Mark Fish loves Vee's and hes a top chap. He's in harlow but i think he would quote a shade over 1k. But ring him and ask

I'd get the waterpump & clutch done on it too. I went the whole way & had new plugs & a couple of other bits too (no expense spared me )

I know that mark has very good rep & all that. I couldn't get a price from him though I called up loads of times a while back, I think he tends to take on a bit too much work.

:lolup::lolup: he might just let you,he fell out with it at the weekend when it had a paddy and spat gearbox oil everywhere while having fun with an evo 8 :rofl:

I'm not sure but I think he's getting that done as well. No expense spared for him either :S Renault quoted him £2k for the service, cambelt & water pump, not sure about the clutch tho It's goin in for over a grands worth of resprayed bits soon as well

Hi mate, i can recommend 2 places near you.

1. RS Tuning of Leeds.
2. Ezra Sugden - Renault of Worksop.

Please dont be scared of number 2 being a Renault dealer as they are v6 specialist with the main chap owning an illiad v6 with "vee 6" on the number plate.

I think it's another case of "curse of the french engineering" :rasp:

seriously tho, we think it was caused by a blocked breather pipe, said he was doin 140mph when the stink of burning gearbox oil got really bad he thought he'd killed it:S

I can give a thumbs up for SG Motorsport, had the cambelt/water pump/clutch and all that done in April, top service and also fixed a few other niggles I had with it. Excellent Service.
