Clio V6

I was wondering whether you can stash travel bags etc ontop of the engine cover. Will it take weight ontop or is this no go. Would like to be able to take new motor away for long weekends and so was wondering whether there is any option to put stuff ontop.

Cheers.

Another diff question if you dont mind. Do you know if you can get a retro fit on Mark II in terms of leather or do you have to get it factory fitted?

Would block your rear veiw of course. Might end up knocking you out if you had to brake hard. The shelf behind the seats do really hold quite a lot of stuff.

but id imagine an aftermarket trim would lose the embroided renaultsport logo?

and i personally like the standard seats, do a pretty good job of holding you in place with the alcantara, where as leather would let you slide too much.

The was a guy on here had his V6 nappa leathered identical to Renaults job, including logos on seats, airbags etc. If I find his pics Ill post them.

Slippery leather may not be a good idea for those who intend to chuck the car about a lot. However, in the summer you may well stick to the seats :)

Thats really wierd. Why did they stop doing the i.d. and why is it still in the brand new price/spec broshure that I picked up from the garage. I though they were not stopping production untill 2005

poor uptake of this in the UK i believe.

Renault dealer def said to me that I could get the i.d when I asked him about it and he gave me price??? I know dealer knowledge is limited on the V6 but that is crazy!!!!

you can still order the ID paint, im sure when i flicked through the latest price guid the leather options were not listed.

You are right the glossy one with the pics and peak flow chart has fold out section detailing the leather optiond etc but the car price guide 1st October 2004 only says paint.

That is really crazy as surely they could still fit at the factory and or supply and have dealer fit

anyway its a damn site cheaper to have a trimmer here in the uk do it, and it will be a damn site better. The leather id packs are a complete waste of monney if you ask me anway. But then again if you have the monney to waste on a V6 in the first place then whats a few extra quid on leather.

I take your point. I suppose I like the idea of taking any problems back to the dealer. If fitter screws up its someone else in the loop.

i doubt you get any warrenty on the id packs anyway. And what could go wrong with the leather?? apart from wear and tear that definatly wont be covered.

yes it will take the weight. you can put a suitcase on there aslong as you can see out the rear view mirror.
You dont have to be able to see out of the rear view mirror you just need one method of seeing behind you, so as long as you still have your drivers wing mirror then it doesnt matter.

The logo is easy to do, Cobra Seats will do a Renaultsport (or Cliosport!) logo for you no problem at all.
