Hi there
I have an issue with tickover. Its fine when you first start the car but after some hard driving it will start to tickover at 1500rpm. If you switch off and back on again (microsoft solution ) it ticks over fine again until the next time you rev it up.

Any ideas?

Take it to mechanic asap and get it diagnosed, my mum has a 5 door clio that was doing this... it may seem like nothing now but can be the start of more problems.

speedo cable earth.. behind the clocks where the speedo cable goes in to the back, there will be a black wire (earth) make a new earth join to black wire shud be all good once done....

can be the speedo earth, can be a sticky idle control valve (these go wrong a lot) and it's well worth looking at the condition of the wiring on the throttle position sensor, there's a lot of very poor condition sensors making cars run strangely.

I had to rewire the TPS last year and I checked wiring and it seems ok, better check it again.
The speedo earth.... Is there anything at the gearbox end that could fail rather than behind the clocks??? I had a new clutch recently.
