I might have a look into the way the Clutch cable is routed and the car I have is a 1.8 with a Williams engine in so might be routed wrong ..

I will have to buy the 172 fork I think.
Is there any good places to buy Clio parts like k-tec?
I have 1500 to spend on it so I'm going to start doing the tiny bit of rust. Then suspension :)

You can't just use a longer fork, you'll need the bracket to lift the clutch cable aswell as the larger pivot bush. Parts can be 172 or Volvo, Volvo part numbers are kicking about somewhere but I don't have them to hand.

Worth noting that you'll need to take the gearbox off in order to change the fork and pivot bush.

Oh, and yours is generally known as a 'Hybrid' rather than a Williams as the shell is a 16v.

I found changing the clutch, the cable, and whole pedal assembly for genuine new stuff made it very nice to drive! :)

mine was proper stiff when an aftermarket cable was used as they are slightly shorter and also only last about 6 months, I bought a Renault item and all was well.

Golden rule for 16v's / Williams, only ever ever ever use genuine clutch cables. ever.
