This is why I love this club….

Friday night @Sunglasses_Ron tells me he’s got a family room at the Premier inn. So me and Alf can get a good kip and a shower before Saturday. I mean the man’s a prick, but he’s a lush prick. Genuinely a brother from another mother.

Saturday Rolls round - Both myself and my son left our phones on charge on the charger table at about 12pm. Totally forgot about them and went back at 5pm and both still there, exactly the same position.
Wouldn’t happen anywhere else!

My son was booked on track for the A.M. he’s only been driving 10 months and as much as I wanted to go with him on his maiden voyage, he asked if he could go on his own as I am quite hard on him and he didn’t want the added stress of me. Absolutely fair and I understand. I’d have been the same at 18.
So I turned to @JP83 - a man I have probably met 10 times in my life but I ‘know’ him. He’s a proper placid level headed man who wouldn’t scream if Chopper decided to oversteer in to the sea - and said “can you go with him mate?” And he just said yes and did it for me and my boy.

Then the car s**t itself after 4 laps and our day was over. Power steering fluid delete.
Chop was very very sad as you can imagine, as was I, as I was looking forward to passengering him later on. 😢
Then enter stage left; Will. (Don’t know your current username sorry!) “Dan if your car’s fucked Alfie can have a go in mine”
wtf?! 😳
Within 30 minutes I was waving my son out of the garages in someone else’s car. #teamcs

I had a proper heart to heart with @NorthloopCup . Was lovely getting stuff off my chest - another good human being.

Then it was time to cobble together a plan to get home. I decided to just drive it home with no PAS. A deadly crew of men all stood around my car looking g at eachother; yeah it will be fine. It’s not heavy once you’re going so just go motorway. Bosh!
Enter stage right; @MLB . Who very rightly pointed out that if the PAS pump seizes and the aux belt jumps, I’d end up in a world of pain. Thank you, you lovely tall Dutchman.

This is where it gets special.
During a berating of @OEM Battery Nonce we decided that we’d limp it to @Grandpa Joe ’s house about 40 minutes away where we would collect the Suzuki Swift that I’m buying from him. After he bought it from @Jonnio . 😂
Leave the RB there and come home in the Swift. Rent a trailer and go back up tomorrow to get it.
Then, enter stage Up (?) @Flob who comes down from the sky in a beam of light. “I’ve got a trailer. I’ll get it home. But can we please discuss this in the morning I’m tired” so we did and he did. He put the RB on his trailer and headed to my house. I took Chopper in Rob’s VX220 (with no front number plate) to Tom’s house where I paid £25 for 8 hours of insurance for him to follow me home in the swift.
We then gave it some tie pie (legally, he’s only been driving 10 months!) all the way home, ensuring we were catching Rob back up because I didn’t want him waiting for hours outside mine when he’s already doing me a HUGE favour. Alfie on the motorway was amazing. How many 18 year olds would drive a totally new to them car for 5 hours on the motorway??
Anyway, we got back. Rob unloaded the RB, I loaded the VX, we both strapped it down, we hugged, he went home to an angry wife.

It was soooo good to speak to people I’ve never met in person before and some that I haven’t seen for years but chatting away like we’re neighbours. 😂

I. LOVE. THIS. CLUB. ❤️

Alfie Cole, First ever track day. 😍

Glad to hear you made it home alright Daniel, such a shame the car let you down but must have been great to see Alfie do his first Trackday laps!

Sorry I couldn't find you to say goodbye this morning!

Absolutely brilliant weekend. A great group of people, hats off to Admin for organising it, your effort is appreciated.

I might change my username to “does anybody have a 1*2 coilpack” 😅
@Sir_Dave introduced you and @Mr Trailer Man to me "this is Brett and James, theyre long time members from way before your time"

"Hi pal how's it going"

"Aye good. Have you got a coil pack spare?"🤣🤣🤣🤣

Proper unfair that, you stopped berating me to tell @Flob your plan to massively inconvenience him, to which he just willingly agreed.

Then when I said it was proper decent of him to assist and showed the belting club spirit, you just told me to shut the f**k up, get my fridge and f**k off 🤣.

Good to meet you mate.

It was me and @Brett who were talking with you until the bar closed and then back to the camping area for more drinks 😅
Were you in the big tent with the music behind us?

I had a f**king superb weekend. Met some new people, caught up with people. Bliss!

Many highlights, mainly including going for smokes in the SL with @Scrooge and also watching him turn some bellends generator off 😂, chasing @Fantastic Nostrils round in his disgustingly reliable bangernomics bmw, doing a fantastic drift with @Daniel in the car and we both instinctively spudded without looking, laps with @Myfanwyi was a brilliant laugh too!

Ace weekend - Massive thank you to @Sunglasses_Ron and all the mods who set it up, good people.

Brilliant to meet you @CliosandCoffeeCal, shame you couldn't say bye or thank you to anyone before you left - hope you found your pissed up mate before the police did.

@Flob as I said to you, I hadn't laughed that hard in a car in years, it's so bloody capable and seemed to love being abused! Couldn't believe you still had tread left either 😂

(I vote we get Flob on hotlap duty next year - The smiles per mile factor is 10/10)

@lee M4RSH well, have a guess. The one's we knew would be a problem ended up being a problem.

Bellwiffs.

Yeah we are booked into an air b&b glamping pod tomorrow. Where was it mate?
Whisky or gin?

Aberfalls -Gin (you see it on the A55 do both but their whisky isn't great IMO)

Penderyn - Whisky (who was wearing their hat?) is in Llandudno and do a good tour.

Then there's Conwy brewery who do tours for beer.

Edit. It's worth going to the actual Aber Falls for a walk. Absolutely beautiful. Hour or so walk from the car park. Worth it if you're in the area. Happy to point some other places out if you're staying local?

Aberfalls was the one I was thinking of, on the way out of Anglesey.

The gins are decent but their whisky is still young and very harsh IMO.

Only ever had it from work hampers, not something I'd buy in a shop though.

There's a vineyard and their wines are spot on.

I think we are are going up Snowdon by train on Tuesday because my knee has swollen up like a balloon since our long walk on the beach earlier today. Fck knows what that’s all about because it’s never happened before.
You got bitten on the knee last night in the garage.

I began writing this about 30 minutes ago, but decided to start again because I was linking and thanking pretty much everyone I spoke to over the weekend (and it was getting a bit silly). :ROFLMAO: And the more names I decided to add, the more worried I became, in case I missed someone out and offended them. So, let's make this simple - you're all a bunch of w**kers. That way, you should all be equally offended. But, honestly, I couldn't think of a better way to spend a couple of days to be honest. I've made some lifelong mates here and it was top banana to meet a bunch of new fresh recruits this time around.

I've simply got to mention Team CS and all those involved in organising. Smashed. It. Again. Seriously, the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes is probably more than I can imagine, but the results speak for themselves. Thanks to each and every one of you. I'm sorry if I didn't get around to all of you personally to shake your hands but please know I am massively grateful and appreciative. Cheers!

Thanks to those of you who also took time out for a bit of a chinwag; it was good to see you again, or to meet you for the first time. I'm slightly disappointed that I didn't get time to chat with everyone I wanted to, so I'm working up a rota for next year.

Special thanks to @SharkyUK for taking him out in the GT4. He is absolutely Porsche mad and has started on his mother as soon as we walked through the door. Telling her how much of a sound investment one would be and how brilliant a car it is!

No problem, mate - it was my pleasure. I don't know what it is but CS dads seem to be doing something right! Just like Dan's son Alfie and Ron's son Stan, Toby is very much growing up a young man in the same vein; incredibly polite, courteous and knowledgeable. Fair play fellas!

So yeah, another amazing event. I caught up with many, missed a few others, saw Rojer, and has Sash hugs. Win-win.

I did manage to grab a few photos (I took 717 apparently) but my 20 year-old camera and Compact Flash were throwing errors left, right and centre! Sadly, it seems like many didn't write to the CF correctly, and some have various levels of corruption. I've managed to recover about 10 images successfully so far and will see if I can recover a few more.

EDIT: My friend who came along in his Aston (and is a Spa Francorchamps lap record holder, don't you know!!!) sends his thanks, too. He enjoyed it and was gutted to have to shoot off mid-afternoon.
