Clock forgetting the time

Hi guys, I've been to view a 182 clio and it's looking good, now one thing he told me is that the clock doesn't work, it seems to work when driving (ie once running the clock works almost as a timer) but as soon as you turn the car off it goes back to 0:00! Has anybody else had this? If so what was the problem?

Hmm but the rest or it still works ie what radio station and outside temperature!

Probably an issue with the 12v memory back up. Maybe he's had the dash out and not connected it all back up at some point. Not sure where the source is for the clock but im sure that'd be the cause

i had this issue with my non sport clio and meggie. Ended up replacing the units.

Sounds like a fuse?

Had this on my 172 which turned out to be a fuse in the passenger compartment... I think it was a 10A

check the charge level in your battery, my clock did this a couple of times recently and then resulted in having to jump start it outside the chinese recently
