Walking out to the car today after college I thought bloody hell that looks nice and low!

Start to get off home today, the steering felt wierdly heavy. My mate said it sounded like something was rubbing as I crawled (and scraped on the passenger side) over a bump I usually just have to climb and parachute on.

The idiot inside me didn't check it, offered the 2 lads a lift home and got on the way. Felt wierd and could hear a slight noise sometimes, going down the expressways at 60mph; 3.5 miles having looked on googlemaps.

Anyway, jumped at a my mates house to see this!

With it smelling like horse menuir, and smoking quite abit actually.

After pumping up at 30 psi:

Couldn't stick the spare on as I have no jack atm

Reckon it's safe to use and see if it goes down again having had that wear on the side wall? Or should I scrap it and get a new contisport on it asap?

I fell blessed the tire didn't come off the rim etc, the gauge read 3/4psi when inflating.

Pain in the ass when I'm looking at getting rid of these wheels :dapprove:

f**k about that's some wear! Keep it well inflated and no fast driving. Literally 30mph. Get it changed asap!

Looks bad on iPisch screen, get it checked professionally.

Put some of that "puncture repair" goo in it until you get it changed. Tyre fitters love that stuff...

Having had a similiar thing happen to my corsa (driving it flat for a few mile on the motorway) and then seeing the state of it when it came off I wouldn't go another yard in it as the tyre wall will be badly worn, they old tyres?

If you are going to drive it mate then keep it below 30imo

Not old tires dude, good 6-7mm left on all of them. I can't be doing with having odd tires though, I'm hating having to buy only one corner. Would be hella waste to get all 4 though with them how they are!

aye know what you mean, wouldn't need to change the back two, just change the front two, keep the front right as a future spare, shove it on a spare alloy if you can find 1 cheap

I have a spare 172 alloy in the boot with brand new tire on, but it has the wheel weights (if that's right) on the outside of the rim, something I wouldn't be able to stand!

get it checked out, you might be lucky. iv seen some that look fucked from the outside, but they're ok inside.

baisically if you take the wheel off and get a tyre place to push the tyre off and its full of rubber pellets inside its fecked

You can knock wheel weights off easy enough, or pay somebody a tener to re-balance it.

Yeah true, want all the wheels perfect though, not with all little blocks on the rim like people have on the doors!

Cheers Mike, splitter is coming off tomorrow anyways, just need to buy a super low jack from costco to put the other one on.

Bits and bobs weren't sent out till atleast monday, maybe I'll get a package tomorrow.

Just drive onto a block of wood then use a normal jack.

I don't even have a normal jack dude... I'm not sure what the Audi has in the boot, there's no cars about till 7/8pm. Can't ask my neighbour has 2 doors one way they don't have a car/don't live there, and the other side is a nosey b**ch.

Jeffrey's is 10 mins away from mine down a 30.

Chances are the tyre wall is fcuked tbh.
Get a local tyre fitters, to pop it off the rim and check it. Otherwise it could end in a horrible deathly fireball of doom !!

Got a new tire stuck on it,

Even got some wheel spins on the way out lol.

The guy asked me what engine was in it and I was like "1.2... " He turned and shouted to the chap putting the tire on and shouted "Fairy 2..." Got complimented with 'Nice bodykit'.
