Clunking from steering?

Hi all

I've got a clio mk3 gt and today noticed a clunking when turning the steering wheel, sounds like it's coming from o/s or the middle of the car. Checked wheel nuts and had a quick look but couldn't see anything. The clunking is not wheel rotational - happens whether I'm driving or stationary and only when the steering wheel is turned,

Anyone have an idea or are there any common faults?
