Clunking MK 1 172

Getting a loud clunk between fast gearchanges, especially 3rd to 4th. Thinking maybe a worn driveshaft joint? or engine/box catching the bulkhead or somewhere else? Theres a bit of movement of the gear lever most noticable in second when you lift your foot off the power which maybe linked to the problem, are engine/gearbox box mounts known to deteriorate and give play? Any other ideas?

engine mount under the battery will be the problem. quite a few people on here had it go, eventually mine caused the torsion arm to go?

took reno several months to find and fix the problem so good luck.

Just had a poke about down there, would that be the square rubber mount between gearbox and chassis? does not look too hard to access to replace.
