Clutch 1.2 16v

Oh dear, i think i got a problem with my clutch

went to take over some one on the dual carriage way and the car jus revved, done it a like twice on way back 2 work! then i think it smelt a bit when i got out of car!!

wot u think problem is? and if so how much am i talkin to fix???

help

jus out of interest.....how much is a new clutch for a 1.2 auth (8v)?

are they hard to fit?

Hmm am not sure how long clutches are meant to last on the 1.2 16v but surely its longer than 40k?

I guess it just depends on how hard you drive/drove it?

yeah thing is i dont drive it hard so should be covered under warrenty maybe??

but thing is i missed my 36k service and i had car serviced by another garage which my mate owns!

is this a prob??? and how much if i have to get it fixed from renault?

I dont know if the warranty will cover it mate as youve had it serviced by someone other than reno?

Just get it sorted at your mates garage as they done the service only what 4k ago?

Shouldnt they have checked this when it was in being serviced?

Ive just had a clutch fitted on my 1.6 16v megane. same engine as the 1.6 clio.



£100 for the clutch from eurocarparts.

and £150 to get it fitted from my local Renault Specialist garage.

yeah he told me it was gonna be a prob.

he said hell fix it but dont know how much its gonna be. he said i should find out how much renault will charge for parts an labour and he will do it 4 me at a better price.

any ideas how much?

shouldnt be hard to beat renault for prices for fitting

personally, i think you should be looking at around £200 all in

mines on 68000miles (and has been driven HARD for the past 3years)

either you cant drive, or its a faulty part, or the crankshaft oil seal is leaking onto the clutch

had the same problem in my 51 1.2 16v clio 50, clutch did the same fing, cost me £180 parts an labour
