Clutch advise

After long drive today clutch is getting high on the bite side trying to see it out till next year lol how much do people charge to fit a new one? And how easy is it with a ramp I can use at work..

You're looking at about £500-£600 labour for someone to supply and fit.
On a ramp it's a doddle to do, but the subframe may have other ideas.

I've done them before but ford's have a lot more room etc. I ent paying that I'll have some days off and do at work. Just hate removing subframe due to both condition etc

Remove box out the top side and lift once everythings off n moved

Drop the subframe on the gearbox side then slide the box into the gap. This way you don't have to drop the whole subframe.

As Matt says, that's the easiest way,
Soak the subframe bolt threads in penetrating oil a week before the job too
Get a Valeo only for the clutch itself.

I've just had mine done. Got the Valeo clutch for £61 from GSF, was meant to be 5hrs labour but subframe bolts added another hour onto that.

'WOW46' for 46% off GSF.

The garage had mine for 2 days, I believe it was a problem with the subframe bolts....

Hmm not bad I gonna try and make it last till next year but gonna start saving before buy new tool box

I did mine from the top without touching the subframe.

If you shift the ecu, radiator etc there's just enough space to shift the box into the corner to gain access to the clutch. Valeo kit comes with an alignment tool so you don't need to check its central by looking at it from the side as the box will be in the way.

Long shot but it possible that the cable is going clutch isn't slipping just very high bite, after speaking to some people at work but they no renault specialist

Yes it is possible do the clutch reset mate.

Any idea how. If clutch was replaced before which I have no record of I doubt it would have been reset tbh ..

Yes mate

Remove the cable from gearbox
Push down on the pedal
Re attach cable
Push down on pedal again you will here the rachet mech reset

Away you go

In theory that should tell the wear of the clutch I guess ? If bite still high maybe time for new clutch

No its the condition of the cable as it gets longer the ratchet is ment to move so even when the clutch is dead the bite stays the same

Hmm I put a lot pf power through it earlier and no slip so hopefully adjusting cable should help with diagnosis it lol
