Clutch or mounts?

  Clio Cup 172
Hi,

Currently running a stock 53 plate 172 cup. Recently I've noticed 'movement' inside what i think is the clutch during hard acceleration, It feels like a stretching of something at the time you would hear a dodgy dry bearing screech noise. Very hard to explain , as you bring the pedal to the biting point it happens, almost if the car was being towed on bungie cords. Its not driven hard and is the original clutch from new. It also suffers from the common fault (apparently) of the harsh banging noise during hard gear changes which can be felt under the floor of the cab,

any ideas??

The banging noise under hard changes is one of the mounts,
probably the dogbone if it's coming from under the floor,
polybushes stops it from happening.

Can't help you with the other weird noise though,
you sure it's not the aux belt squealing?

Its not so much a noise but a feeling through the clutch pedal itself as you pull away from a standstill, a stretching motion, more noticeable on upward inclines,
thanks for the swift reply

No problem mate, i'm sure someone else will be along shortly to help you with the other issue.

New clutches are relatively cheap, unfortunately the labour to change it isn't.
