cobra seats today...

  133, 182, Kangoo 182
You'll need sidemounts and subframes to fit them into the Clio and depending on fitment, the seat belt will most likely attached to the subframe and thread through the sides.

  CLIO 172 CUP....
more than likely a long shot but is ther any were i can get a set of buckit seats and sidemounts and subframes for £300.

have to be some think like cobra or some think/

Possibly some cheap ones like Raceland but you'll more than likely pay that for a pair of Cobra seats (not inc. mounts/frames).

Sorry to high jack this thread bit I'm in the same position. I just got a sabelt racing seat yesterday. So to make it clear I need a subframe and side mounts for it to fit?

if its a side mounted seat, then you will defs need sidemounts,
most seats come with a set of sidemounts i thought,

then you will need to either butcher you old seats,
or make/buy a set of subframes to fit the seat to the floor,

OR you could just fix the sidemounts directly to the floor,
but do some measurements first as this may well leave you far too low down lol.

As for the OP, i have a set of base mounted cobra monacos in blue that may be up for sale soon,
only want £100 for the pair without subframes.

i used aluminium chequered plating and boled it to the runners, didnt look too nice but it worked!

similar fix on mine, 8mm steel, seat bolted to original runners, bit of a pussy though as the runners are differebt heights lol! so metal spacers used too and im gonna lower the central runners (plastic spacer can be cut) once all this snow is away.

as for the seat belt, i bought a set of old seats from a scrappys and cut the seatbelt mount off of them then simply bolted that on top of the metal plates, theres a lot to be said for subframes lol!

  CLIO 172 CUP....
right iv unbolted my passenger seats and disconceted battery for 45min. now im ready to be removed the seat but just one more thing i need to no. ther is a plug under the seat do i just unplug it and do i just cut the two wires that go to the seat belt tensoner.

  172 cup- suzu rf600r
i didnt unplug anything when i did mine, just pull the wiring out of the seat and leave it all intact/attached

  CLIO 172 CUP....
keirravn...yeah your right mate iv just had an other look and i see that i never had unplug the plug i just uncliped it from the seat. but the two (blue and brown) wires that are going to the seat belt tensoner dont look like thay unclipe at all so is it o.k to just cut them and tape them up....

also should ther be any light on the dash..(i.,e) air bag lights or any think...

cheers thanks.

  172 cup- suzu rf600r
as said mate i didnt cut anything, just unbolt the seatbelt clips from the seat and you can feed them through the seat with the wires still attached, i dont imagine cutting and rejoining them will do any harm but you dont have to cut.

yours is a cup ye? mines is and there are no airbag lights because theres no airbags in the cup seats anyway, so there is a built in resisitor in the wiring to avoid the light

  CLIO 172 CUP....
yeah iv done it guys i followed the wires to the tensoner and ther was a plug so just unpluged it. seat is no out cheers..(keirravn).. for the info mate...oh(jack_kemp) why would ther be rules on spelling. im sorry my spelling aint that good..MR PERFECT.

  Ph1 track 172
also with side mounted buckets, im not sure where you are going to mount the seatbelt clip!
unless its built in to a subframe,

No problem with people spelling things wrong mate, it's when people spell things wrong on purpose that it gets me!

  CLIO 172 CUP....
right these cobra seats iv put a ebay link up of..^..thay dont come with subframes and runners and these are the seats i really would like to get as v only got £300. so wot im needing to no is dose any body no if renault 5 gt cobra subframes and runner would fit into my clio and bolt down as i can get two subframes and runners for £100 second hand. but ther is no sidemounts that come with the subframes so will i need sidemounts to fit the seats to the runner or will the seats fit the runner with out sidemounts...

  CLIO 172 CUP....
right iv picked up a set of sparco bucket seats and sidemounts and harnesess in vgc and very clean. now will these fit straght in to the car or do i need runner or frames and stuff.

oh and also when i removed my seats from the car i noticed ther is like for washer sort of things that the seats was sat on do i need to remove the washer befor i fit the bucket seats in...

cheers.

  172 cup- suzu rf600r
youl need to buy or make a subframe of some sort bud, even if its just 2 strips of metal, im lost on the washer? do you mean the plastic spacers under the runners?

  172 cup- suzu rf600r
depends how your fitting the seats, if your attaching them to your current runners then its optional, leaving them in would mean the runners would still be adjustable, taking them out would make the runners lower but very stiff so not really adjustable, and if your using a differrent subframe or whatever that doesnt involve your runners then the whole lot can come out and just pop nuts and bolts in the holes to blank them off

  CLIO 172 CUP....
right iv made some frames and fitted them to the runner in my car. now when i bolt the bucket seats in thay seem to to sit abit up to much.

now if i remove the washers under the runners this make it hard to slide the seats. and if i was to just bolt the sidemounts to the floor then the seats sit to low...

  CLIO 172 CUP....
also had the standed passange seat weigh today and it was 17kg and thats with the ruuner on. then weigh one of my sparco evo bucket seats with sidemounts fitted and set of standed runners im useing and the costom sub frames and it was 13kg . so lost 4kg per seats so works about 8kg altogher thats 1, half stone in weight. sparco seats weight 7.2kg per seat. witch means the sidemounts and runners weight 6kg

sparco seats would be about 10kg if i wasnt using the runner as the runners are like 2kg

cant really help much without a few good photos mate, a short description like that will never work lol! only thing i can help with is yes, removing the spacers all together make the runners stick, but you can chop it down a bit, but its not a huge difference like an inch or half an inch or something im led to believe? theres a thread somewhere, try searching for lowering seats - a guy did it to his standard seats and posted pics on here somewhere

  CLIO 172 CUP....
