Code 257 throttle position sensor.

HI everyone,

I HAVE JUST CHANGED THE CAMBELT ON MY CLIO SPORT AND I NOW HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. MY DIAGNOSTIC TOOL READS A FAULT CODE 257 throttle position sensor. IT IDLES A LITTLE TOO FAST AND I HAVE NO POWER AT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. As I did a CAMBELT change I have had many wires disconnected, I also replaced my auxiliary drive belt, water pump, inlet manifold gasket, air filter and spark plugs. Does anyone know what I have done wrong whilst completing this work that would cause this to happen? And what can I do to fix it??

I would suggest plugging in the TPS

Throttle position sensor. I'm sure it's plugged in but I will check to make sure! Lol

Haha I Thought you were taking the michael, just went into the garage to check the sensor was plugged in, I hadn't pushed it on far enough, just heard it click into position! Revs perfectly now and Ive completed the job. Thanks a lot for your help, was only something simple but it was driving me mad! Just gotta put all the plastic crap back on the car now! let's see what else I ca break!

School boy error... I've done it before myself (I've also forgetten to reconnect the clutch cable before to).

I on the other hand have never made the exact same mistake so knew what the solution was straight away........obviously

I do it pretty much everytime the plenum is off. I did it earlier on today infact
