was your car still running after

Yep sure was. Misfiring like a b**ch, shaking violently too. She sounded like a bloody tank. It cost me £165.00 to get it sorted out the same day. She now seems better than she ever was. Was a right bloody shock though being as she was fine when I last drove her.

Edit: The recovery bloke made me a tad angry though . He listened to her and said "Sounds alright to me love". I was none to impressed I can tell you

yeah ive had 2 go before they all got replaced to the newer sort. 1 at a time tho.

been ok for about 1.5 years since tho

did feel a lot better after they got replaced iirc

wow i only paid £25 to get 1 fixed

That was lucky as the darn coils are £40 each, then you have to add labour , diagnostic plus VAT. Still, in a way I'm glad they went as she is now running better than ever and is really quiet. Think I will get a couple of spares though, just in case the other two decided to follow.

im sure u dont need me to tell you that you shouldnt drive it with the broken coil as the fuel is still going into the cylinder but not being burnt so it will f**k up the cat

my 1st one went when i started it one morning

the 2nd one went when i came off a speed hump (pretty slowly). stuttered in 2nd and then onto 3 cylinders. luckily it was down the end of the road

AA man fixed mine as it was in warrenty (isnt now so hope they dont break)

I'm going to switch to the AA next year as my recovery guy hadn't got a clue what was wrong with her. He didn't even know how to get the engine cover off. How bloody clever is that? Grrrr

Well I thought I would try the AA as it seems they carry some spares and would probably at least know what to do. Hubby said they were good when he had his pug too, so I'll try them.

They guy that came out to me made me drive my car up onto the truck and reverse it back off again when we got to the garage. He said he wasn't allowed to do it. He could only whinch it up and drag it off, and I wasnt having that!

Did you drive yours much when it fucked up? I have been told there is a risk of damaging the cat if you drive it too far. Mine only got driven 1/4 of a mile and limped her home.

I was none too pleased. I rang up Admiral when I got home and complained. They agreed that someone who knew what they were doing should have been sent out, and then just said they would pass my complaint on.

Hmm 100 miles. I don't know anything about cats to be honest. I was just told not to drive her just in case. They guys on here were very helpful and actually helped me to stay calm about it. Bless them all.

Well for a 1.6 she is pretty nifty yes. I don't boot her, just put my foot down abit once in a while. I dont want to rag her out. I did do abit of a test not long after I had run her in abit (around 3000 miles) and had her showing 125pmh on the clock. She was abit scarey and unstable though, but that was with the original Renault suspsension. That has since been changed. She's pretty stable at 120 though.

ace the 1.4 is supost to be bit faster at picking up speed just wondered if it was true

I used to have a 1.4 8V RT Alize, and that wasn't exactly slow, so I should imagine the 16V is even better.

She's doing an average of 33mpg and most of that is urban driving. I don;t do motorways unless I have to. I hate them, too many idiots about. lol

Here you go, quickest one I could lay my hands on at the moment. lol
