Coilovers for my 182

Depends entirely on budget.
My friend has just had AST's fitted and set up by the man Curtis, and it's unbelievable.
But if you don't want to spend £2k+ then something like Bilsteins are a fair compromise but are a little soft if you're an out and out track man.
Avoid any of the crap like V-Maxx.
And whatever you decide to fit, make sure your bushes/strut tops are new or at least in very good condition. And don't forget to budget for a proper tracking/camber set up at a reputable place that works with track cars. I.e. Don't go to kwik fit and spend £25 on tracking.

Gaz Golds are another option around that price range. I've just went with a set of those for mine although I can't comment on how good they are yet as the car is still on axle stands lol
750 I think I was for them with custom spring rates.
I've been questioning the same thing for mine on a similar budget. Stuck between Bilsteins and the Gaz Golds. Leaning towards Bilsteins for mine since mine mainly sees the road.
For you and mainly track work I'd probably go for either the BC's or Gaz Golds as above.

For track id be going with BC's. Plenty of adjustment, 30 way clicks from soft to hard and you can adjust the height without altering the bound/rebound as the adjustment is would into the strut itself, rather than a spring on a platform.
Another nice touch is the adjusters for the damping are all on the top so no wet knees. They are are also coated so no rusting.

Not at all. I had them on fully soft as it was like being in a normal car with a sports suspension. Fully hard and they are hard! The good thing is, with the adjusters being on the top, you can just stop off and fiddle with them and play about till your happy. Obviously once the height and springs are where you want them.
I loved them and would definitely have them again. I prefer them to my bilsteins, but they are more expensive. However you get all that adjustability.
I'm not 100% sure. I got a good discount before as i bought another set of different coilovers from a company and they leaked in short time. They was cheapies, mind. The company took the old ones back and discounted me on a upgrade suspension kit, which was the BC's.
Maybe @MicKPM is the best person to speak too? Pretty sure you can change the spring rates too.
Also the BC's come with custom front spring rates as a free option, options below...

wasn't there somebody on here who ordered custom rates and just got springs without revalving ?

You would probably get away with it for 7/8kg springs, but after that it would be worthwhile getting them revalved.
Why would the dampers need revalving?
did you have br or dr series mate?new to all this
If funds allow go with the DR's with solid top mounts if solely a track car? I'll be going with DR's with 8kg/8kg spring rates when I get them as this is similar to the AST spring rates of 80n/mm = (8kg).

Designed to work at a certain pressure with a set spring rate. A major change to the spring rate and it'll effect the dampening and possibly blow the seals of the shock.

I believe you want the rear spring rate a bit more than the fronts for better turn in/reduced understeer on a fwd car.
Say 7kg front, 8kg rear.

thanks mate i believe the brs said something abiout rear adjustment on something will try see who will do a deal as wouldnt mind some for my r26 aswell

Worth checking the big central nut to see if it's tight. Sometimes they come delivered a bit loose and that'll knacker the bearing.
Check once fitted to the car, so that there is some weight/load on the bearing.
