Coilovers or Lowering?

  Black 1.2 Extreme
Basically I'm not sure weather to get coilovers or just to lower is as normal

I don't intend on changing the ride hight once I have lowered the car, so I don't think there is any point getting coilovers really is there?

If I am just lowering the car how low will it need to be to look considerably lower, but the only problem is I lie up a rural track so I don't want to be scraping it as I drive up

Cheers, Sam

rural track + lowering = not too clever i reckon lol, 30-40mm is noticable without being too low, coilovers are better especially as they are adjustable so you can set your own ride height, more expensive too though and prob wasted on a 1.2

Springs will be fine, when you come to sell the car you will be glad you didn't spend 500 on coilovers.
There are obvious gains from coilovers, personaly I wouldnt bother mate.

I know its dose'nt seem clever :(
But it really does look like its riding really high at the moment

Yes 30-40mm sounds good to me shouldn't scrape that I don't think

How much will I be looking at to get it lowered by that much by a local garage do you think?

depends largely on the garage and if the job goes smoothly, best bet is to call around and compare a few quotes, but as a guesstimate 80-150 quid, its not a difficult job so if you know someone you could get it done for 50 buck

also not to be a **** but there are threads on this if you do a search youl find tons of useful info i reckon ;)
