Coilovers vs shock+spring set

  clio sport 172
Hello, what would be a better setup for a road car :
Coilovers (KW, Weitec, V-Maxx, H&R) or a set of shocks+springs (Koni yellow sport+Eibach Sportline, or some other...).
I'm getting a complete new suspension (wishbones, ball joints, track rods...) done, so i wonder what would be a better combination-coilovers or shock+spring set?

thanks!

Coilovers are a lot more money, but well worth the investment.
Springs and shocks are good, but you can't beat a set of good coilovers.

However, don't skimp. Kw v2's have my vote.

if you're not bothered about stance, then your money would go a hell of a lot further buying shocks and springs!

Koni adjustable shocks + eibach springs will come to around £600

and that will perform a lot better than a set of coilovers that cost the same amount (e.g. Gaz)

however you cant change the height and set it up in your own way.

however if you have the reddies, you may as well go for a set of KW coilovers!

I'm going through the same thought train at the moment.

I'm pulled towards two set ups....

Fully renewed standard shocks, Eibach Pro Springs and up-rated ARB

or

Bilstein Coilover kit.

Car is to be used on the track but I'm an old bugger and when I do use it one the road, which is quite often at the moment as I love driving it, I don't want a crashy ride or scraping issues.

The way I see it is these Cups are great out of the box on a track, if I renew the suspension and rubbers, go solid on the top mounts and stiffen the ARBs I'll have a best compromise. I do like coilies though!

The standard setup would cost approx £700 all in. The coilers (Bilstein) are currently £810 plus postage. Decisions, I'm a big fan of Bilstein stuff. Hmmmm.
