cold air feed

  RenaultSport clio 172 mk2
Two cold air feeds would be any advantage over one in terms of supplying cold air to the engine. But if you put your air feed facing forward at the front it also acts a ram air feed. And the bigger the area in the airflow the more air is forced into the engine. So you might get a small power advantage at high speed from the ram air effect of a second "cold air" feed. The lower the speed the less the effect. The best I've seen on a bike is about a 10% gain at 200 mph, but that doesn't translate to much at a 1.2's top speed. Also anything else gets forced into the engine too if you don't do it right.

There's only so much air a IK will suck in at any one time.

The important thing is getting cold air into it from a decent source.

One good CAF is all you need - in any case, space is limited in 172's / 182's.

i cant remember the dia. but the lamp comes out with 2 screws so its easy enough to measure. i got the bit of kit from ebay
weird thing the rear fog on the same side packed up when the front was disconnected must be linked, i'm not bothered you only need one for MOT and i don't use 'em anyway

I have 2 cold air feeds:rasp:

Hill Power Induction Kit is supplied with 2 x 65mm CAF's. I routed one to the front lower grill and the other down the side of the gearbox to the wheel arch liner.

The feeds go into the side vent in the air filter housing on the right. The one visible goes to the front lower grill, the other is underneath that one.

I tried to fit 2 but the left front one is too hard to route and at the moment goes no where near the filter. Just didn't want them to look uneven
