182 cup & 172 ph1
Hiyer Guys,
Really need some help, Ive searched through multiple threads but none seem to have the exact same symptoms. Other threads seem to point to either Spark plugs, coil pack, Dephaser pulley etc . . . . Really need to try and narrow it down a bit before i have to shell out more and more money
My 182 went into the garage for belts and dephaser changing in october, on the way it came up with an intermitant warning light, the one of a box with a zig zag running through it. Belts were changed and off i went, car sounded a bit rougher to be honest but drove fine, except the warning light kept coming on and off. Turned out the warning light was due to a faulty wire in the engine loom and so all the wires were repaired and the connectors fixed, also the throttle body was replaced
Got the car back and noticed that the rough sound since having the belts done has now turned into a slight ticking noise and the car seems to weeze after coming of the accelerator. The worse part is when the car is started up the car really badly seems to stutter and sounds as though the engine is struggling. It does this through every gear and right through the rev range until the car has warmed up and then it wont happen anymore. The car has no warning lights and garages never seem to be able to find the problem.
Sorry for such a long read, just really need this sorting as its depressing. Any help would be incredibaly appreciated.
