connecting pc display to tv

if i wire it up and go into display settings and activate 2 monitors i get a display but not the full laptop display, just the centre.

I have adjusted the resolution on the laptop for the 2nd monitor but it doesnt seem to change the display on the tv.
And it always shows desktop rather than a program i am running on the computer, i.e if i open internet explorer on laptop it doesnt show on the tv.

Anyone know why?

I think you just drag the program you want onto the other desktop i.e to the left to put it on your tv

Either do what mole said or set it to clone instead of dual screen mode (providing it has 1). That should set the display to the same as what the laptop is displaying.

yer drag it to other screen but on some appz when u maximise it itll go back to the primary screen the old versions of power dvd did this
